INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING SCHOOL

The IE training program provides new engineers with methods and tools to improve performance through positive change through a combination of classroom and hands-on activities. The initial industrial engineering training typically lasts 6 months. The classroom portion of training lasts 4 weeks and covers the following topics:

  • Measuring effectiveness, diagnostic
  • Continuous observations
  • Continuous improvement tools
  • Just-In-Time manufacturing
  • Material flow, machine cycle, and methods analysis
  • Work measurement
  • Work balancing and determining unit times

During the remainder of the training period, employees are coached through investigation, analysis, and implementation techniques to a project in a manufacturing area.
