The central quality engineering training provides technical development for new Quality Engineers at Michelin's headquarters in Greenville, S.C. The length of this assignment is usually 12-18 months, depending on the individual's needs and the demand for Quality Engineers at manufacturing facilities. During this time, the employee is given the title of Quality Technician.
Quality Technicians receive formal classroom instruction, exposure to Central Quality Engineering experts and hands-on project experience. During training, Quality Technicians can expect to spend approximately 30% to 40% of their time traveling to various manufacturing facilities in North America.
Having completed training, the Quality Engineer will receive a permanent assignment at one of the manufacturing facilities within the United States.
